Spencer's Butte is a mountain that stands over Eugene, Oregon from the south. While we were home for Christmas we took the hike to the top. The whole way up was foggy and half-way up the baby was cold and crying. Just over the ridge, just a bit from the top, I stopped walking and tried desperately to calm my baby. At that same moment the sun came out and fog was rolling in over the rocks and trees. The light was beautiful, it was time to photograph! But I had a mad baby, and Ian (who continued up without me, I think on purpose) had my backpack with my camera on the top of the mountain. I know Ian didn't see me but I gave him an evil eye. So is my life now, I guess. The sun went back into hiding, my baby stopped crying, and went up the rest of the hill to a foggy landscape. Brake out the tripod and make the best of it. This is what I made.
